Durham & New Castle Upon Thyne

One of the weekends we decided to drive up to Durham. From Leeds takes about 1 and half hour drive. Again woke early prepared some food for picnic by Durham river. River and Cathederal where they said one of Harry Potter's movie was filmed. Small English town. Beautiful scenery..castle on top of the hill, bridge across the river, the heritage buildings, makes you feel relaxed and calm. A place to get a way.

While we were strolling in the town where there are stalls selling food, we found a Malaysian and her daughter selling Malaysian food like Murtabak, Nasi Lemak, Kueh Teow goreng..we bought from them just Murtabak, furthermore we just had our food by the river. She has been in Durham for 17 years and she is still working. Just to pass her time, selling Malaysian food in the stall.

Late in the evening, we decided to move on to New Castle Upon Thyne since from Durham took us about another 30 minuetes drive. Not many place we manage to go. Definitely will plan another proper trip to New Castle Upon Thyne. We walk to the town and went to New Castle Football Club Store. Totaly different scenario from Durham. It is a big town. The biggest shopping centre is the Eldon Square Shopping Centre..that I will not forget, useful for next trip later on..hehehe
