York & Hull during weekends

During weekends, we decided to go York after helping the Malaysian student who are leaving Leeds loading goods to be shipped back to Malaysia. Helping most of them quite number of weekends gives us some vision what are we suppossed not supposed to buy when we go back to our homeland. The 20 footer cost about 1000 pound where else 40 footer cost bout 1500 pound more or less. These are to carry the goods not to forget if you purchase car the container cost is about 600 pound in a different container. When it arrives homeland also additional cost you should put in the list, to transport the container from port to your house..Fuuuhhh! So much cost involved..(cost based on Malaysian that are leaving Leeds 2012, do not know later on)

That only costing for goods, if your purchase your car when it arrives not to forget big chunk of tax to release the car..headache..

So back to our sightseeing in York. We leave Leeds quite late, after lunch. From Leeds, York is about 30 minutes drive. It is really an old English town. Cosy town. Here totally you will see 97% are locals..

York is a walled city, situated at the confluence of the Rivers Ouse and Foss in North Yorkshire, England. The city has a rich heritage and has provided the backdrop to major political events throughout much of its two millennia of existence. The city offers a wealth of historic attractions, of which York Minster is the most prominent, and a variety of cultural and sporting activities.

The city was founded by the Romans in 71 AD, under the name of Eboracum. It became in turn the capital of the Roman province of Britannia Inferior, and of the kingdoms of Northumbria and Jorvik. In the Middle Ages, York grew as a major wool trading centre and became the capital of the northern ecclesiastical province of the Church of England, a role it has retained.

Based on the city information board, the city is walled by 2miles bricked walls. We did not manage to finish 2 miles with the 2 little kiddos of ours, just part of it.

Next we decided to ride on the Wheels of York..Of course the kids are so excited.

York is a nice English Town, will definately go again. Did not explore much the town area. Late evening we decided to move on to Hull.

From York to Hull takes about 40minutes drive. When we arrived Hull, the first thing we did was we went to Tesco grab some breads, croisants, cheese and milk for dinner. This time around I did not bring prepared food and Hull is unplanned journey. But we manage to make our tummy full. In a way teaching me, my hubby and the kids to live with what we have at that particular moment..not necessarily rice.

After dinner we move on to The River Hull tidal barrier. It was already dark and cold. We just snap a few pictures around the area and just pass through the town and decided to go home since both of the kids has already went to Lala Kingdom...zzzzzzzzzzzz!
